Increase the Ticket of a PM With a Wi-Fi Thermostat

It’s a connected world. There’s no denying it.

The question is, will you be joining the 3 million people who will be buying a connected product this year? And, by “joining,” we mean selling, installing and profiting?

Add it up. Say, you have about 500 PMs. Half will be interested in replacing an old thermostat with a Wi-Fi version. And, for several reasons:

  1. The thermostat is old and needs to be replaced anyway;
  2. They want the convenience and control that a Wi-Fi thermostat offers; or,
  3. They’ll agree to any recommendation you make.

So, 250 x approximately $300 (for Wi-Fi stat + install) = $75,000 above and beyond what you’ll be making on PMs. In the two-month window that preventive maintenance is generally scheduled, that’s quite a haul.

So, what say you, Mr. Contractor? Do you want a piece of this?  If so, check out our Wi-Fi smart thermostats
